Top 5 November Adventures North of Toronto. Muskoka and Almaguin Cottage Resort

Where to go for a November Vacation if you want to stay local and not fly out of the Province of Ontario.  More and more Tourists are heading north of Toronto to escape a busy work schedule to enjoy a weekend retreat.  A large number of employees are not getting a full week of vacation so they take advantage of a weekend away.

The Almaguin Highlands is located north of Huntsville, Ontario and only 2.5 hours from Toronto.


  1. Plan an ATV trip where you get to take a motorized vehicle on the trails to enjoy hours and hours of scenic forest, rivers, lakes and wildlife.  You can bring your own ATV or you can rent one at Redline Rentals out of Huntsville or you can visit Back County Tours where they can send a guide with you and help you explore the trails.  Both options are the same price but you get to pick which one suits you best.

Enjoy a Romantic Getaway where you just get to sit and relax for a whole weekend while enjoying a personal sauna and or a hot tub.  You can also sit in front of your relaxing fireplace and have an onsite massage therapist visit your Chalet or Cottage Rental and give you a relaxing massage.  Also take advantage of having your own kitchen and your own private barbecue on your large deck and enjoy your own meals or have a meal delivered to your door.

Plan a Friends Getaway and enjoy so many nearby attractions.  Screaming Heads is located in Burks Falls where you can spend a day enjoying the Burks Falls Dam, amazing fudge and coffee and a trip to see an amazing artist called Peter Camani.  Go visit Emsdale and have a picnic at Brooks Falls where you can go on a walk around the falls and enjoy the park sitting areas.  Head over the Deer Lake Trout Farm where you can catch your evening dinner and they will prepare it for you while you wait and then take it home and enjoy an evening barbecue.

Adventure seekers, families and romantics can take a trip to Huntsville, Ontario and enjoy plenty of Shopping, Live Theatre, Cinemas and Restaurants.  Take a trip to a local outfitter and try riding a fat bike on a large number of area trails.  Take a walk along the trails that wrap around the lake in Huntsville.

Muskoka Arts and Crafts


The Annual Christmas Show for the Muskoka Arts and Crafts takes places at Monck Public School in Bracebridge, Ontario. Bracebridge is located less then 2 hours from Toronto in the Muskoka Region. At the end of November every year come out and enjoy this fantastic show on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and again on Sunday from 11am - 4pm. This show has over 35 festive exhibitors with hand made arts and crafts perfect for gift giving. Admission by Donation. The location is 250 Wellington Street South.
